Cycling

Pete CyclingMany people don't realize that cycling is a team sport.  However, that team is only as strong as the weakest rider.  Do you want to be THAT rider?  Whether you are a domestique, sprinter, climber, all arounder or TT specialist, the guidance from a qualified coach can help bring out your full potential.  Riding endless miles to increase your aerobic fitness will show improvement, however, by utilizing a scientifically based program that includes aerobic riding, tempo, sustainable pace and climbing intervals done at the correct intensities AND at the correct time will see you improve faster.  Potentially, these fitness gains can also come with a reduction in overall training volume.  Let Kinney Multisport help you become a better athlete.

Just like our other multisport programs, the cycling specific athlete begins training by completing a questionnaire that will assist your coach in determining what is holding you back from getting the results you desire.  Specific physiological testing is then completed to determine your ideal heart rate and/or power training zones.  These zones will ensure that on your easy training days you go easy and on your hard, interval based trainings you go hard so you reap the full benefits from each type of workout.  No longer will you need to guess if your heart rate is too high during your climbing intervals or if your aerobic and muscular endurance development ride is being done within the proper wattage/heart rate range.  As with any coach/athlete relationship at Kinney Multisport, two-way communication between rider and coach is highly encouraged.  It's the athlete's responsibility to inform their coach what workouts have been completed and how those workouts went in order for future workouts to be properly prescribed.  The end result is you see continuous gains in fitness.  It is then the coach's responsibility to communicate back to the athlete what workouts are to be done, at what intensities and what the physiological benefits are from those particular workouts.  For this reason, your training program has an option for unlimited phone and email contact with your coach.  The more contact you have with your coach, the more focused your trainings become, resulting in less time wasted doing unnecessary workouts.  The other advantage to this coaching philosophy is that you have more time available to spend on the important things in life such as family, friends, other interests and work related obligations.  Kinney Multisport offers training programs to fit just about any budget and level of contact with their coach.  Contact Coach Paul for more details or visit the Individual Training section of kinneymultisport.com.
